The L&T Wafer Butterfly Valve is a high-quality valve used for controlling the flow of fluids in a wide range of industrial applications, including water treatment, HVAC systems, chemical processing, and more. The wafer-style design of this butterfly valve allows it to be installed between two pipe flanges, making it space-efficient and cost-effective.

L&T Wafer Butterfly Valve Specification1. Valve Type:
  • Butterfly Valve: A quarter-turn valve used to regulate fluid flow by rotating a disc within the valve body.
  • Wafer Type: The valve body is designed to be inserted between two pipe flanges, clamped by bolts, making it a compact and space-saving solution.
  • Manual or Actuated Operation: Available in both manual and automated configurations (electric, pneumatic actuators).
2. Size Range:
  • Typically available in sizes ranging from 2" (DN 50) to 48" (DN 1200).
  • Custom sizes may be available for special applications.
3. Pressure Rating:
  • Standard pressure ratings:
    • ANSI 150 (PN 20)
    • ANSI 300 (PN 50)
  • The pressure rating depends on the valve size, material, and design. Higher pressure ratings may be available for special applications.
4. Temperature Rating:
  • Common operational temperature range: -10°C to +110°C (14°F to 230°F).
  • High-temperature versions can be designed for applications with higher temperature resistance.
  • Special materials such as PTFE or Viton seals are available for higher temperature requirements.
5. Body Material:
  • Cast Iron (GG25 or GGG40) for general-purpose use.
  • Ductile Iron for stronger, more durable applications.
  • Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel (SS 304, SS 316) for corrosive or aggressive fluid applications.
  • Aluminum or other alloys may be offered depending on the application.
6. Disc Material:
  • Typically made from Cast Iron, Stainless Steel (SS 304, SS 316), or Aluminum.
  • Coatings such as PTFE, PVC, or other corrosion-resistant coatings may be applied for more aggressive media.
7. Stem Material:
  • Made from Stainless Steel (SS 416, SS 304, SS 316) or Hardened Stainless Steel to ensure durability and resistance to corrosion.
8. Seal Material:
  • EPDM for general fluid handling (water, air, etc.).
  • Viton or PTFE for chemical-resistant applications or high-temperature environments.
  • NBR for oil-based media.
  • Neoprene or PTFE seals are also available depending on fluid compatibility.
